Default Wilwood big brak kit & BBS Wheels

Hello, recently my front left caliper seized and I am considering going with the front Wilwood big brake kit but am wondering if they will fit with my stock '95 M edition 15" BBS wheels. Does anyone know? Thanks
Evan

Most 15" wheels fit, but PM savington, he can no only sell you the kit, but probably tell you if it fits.

On the other hand, I'm not sure if he stopped selling the 11" kits, he might only be selling his 11.75" kits. His is by far the cheapest though, but with heavier stock VW rotors vs. the lighter two piece rotors of FM, Goodwin, etc. Saves you $110 every time you replace the rotors though, plus ~$300 less initial cost.

was just on trackspeed engineering website and it says for the kit, which is the same stuff as what goodwin racing is selling for a front only kit, is 900$ where as on goodwin and 949 racing its 550ish. am i looking at the wrong item?

Yeah that's the 11.75" kit which is the last kit you'll ever need. Only required for extreme track users. It still uses the 2 piece rotors, which is $125 for each hat, and $30 for each rotor ring, there's the extra $$. Plus it hardly fits most 15" wheels

Doesn't look like they sell the 11" kit anymore, sorry. Put up a WTB thread, there's been a few lately, and a couple people are upgrading to those 11.75" brakes.

The car only sees light autocross use, so the extra .75 inches for the rotors won't do me much good. Although i do plan in the future to change my wheels, i don't have the money to do so right now. Looks like I will be sticking with the 11" kit from 949.

i just found this post and it looks like these are the same wheels that i have but im not sure (he says they clear the BBS wheels without a spacer even though he uses one) can anyone clarify?

I know the rotors will go an entire season of 16 days, I think the pads might do 8-12 days for the fronts...it will pay for itself. Performance wise, it cannot be described in words. The only thing I'll add that it doesn't matter if I'm going from 150-60 at tws, turn 1 and turn 2 at Hallett, wherever...the pedal feels exactly the same every single time. You cannot fade this brakes, they are awesome awesome awesome.

I know I know, but I can't afford the added cost plus wheels to fit over them. Believe me, I was one of the first to have the 11.75" kit in my hands, I did not want to give it up.

I'm not fading HP+ currently. I'm aggressive, but not enough to blow up the car, I can't afford that either. I'm smart enough that it's not my DD since I know **** happens on the track, but I'm also smart enough to drive within the limits of my current setup. Hence the all season 280 tread wear tires.

The $550 kits are Wilwood 11" kits, our $900 kit is an private-label 11.75" kit. If you can fit the 11.75" kit under your wheels, it is vastly superior to the 11" kits from various vendors. The 11.75" rotors are cheaper (like, way cheaper), the pads last longer, and the pedal feel is better.

The 11.75" kit is really designed for serious track cars, so it only fits under 15x9 6ULs (must use 5mm spacer included w/ kit) or any of the Team Dynamics wheels. They will also fit under 15x10 6ULs w/o a spacer. Most 16" wheels should fit. There are other 15s that will fit too, but those are the only ones we've confirmed.

Just to clear things up: the 550$ kit is the 11" rotor kit WITH the dynalite 4 pot calipers? So if i wanted the 11" BBK that is what i would order for a full front wheeled BBK. You guys should maybe add that on the website under whats included in the kit if so.

Yeah, that's why I thought they didn't sell the 11" kit, that $550 is the upgrade kit for people who already have 11" kits and want the 11.75" kit.

Sav, just to be clear, your site doesn't list the 11" kit. Are you still selling it or not?

+1. I was looking around on trackspeed also and didn't find the kit listed.

just to be clear, they do in fact clear the BBS wheels according to someone at m.net with a slight rubbing under full turn apparently, but he said it works itself out only taking a little bit of paint off the caliper. he said a 5mm spacer will clear everything just fine

i just purchased a BBK kit, but it isn't coming with lines. where is the cheapest/ best place to buy SS braided lines for all 4 corners??

Make sense of this for me. How does the relationship between the wheel and the caliper change as the steering angle changes?

You realize the wheels and the calipers are essentially bolted together right?

Slacker, leaving out all the editorial commentary, the answer to your question is yes and no.

I have the Wilwood BBK and 15" BBSs on my '93 and the fronts JUST clear the calipers. However, when cornering hard, the wheels distort just enough to make contact. Mine self-machined for the first while and are now fine - some paint is worn off the caliper but no structural damage occurred to either wheel or brakes. You can avoid this completely with a 5 mm spacer, but it's not strictly necessary.
this is what a guy said on m.net with the same setup

I see.
I would ask for pics of the area that contacted and clearance the calipers with a dremel/die grinder/whatever.

Just to clarify, we no longer sell the 11" kit. The 11.75" kit is far superior so we felt no need for the 11" kit anymore. If you need more than corrado rotors with stock calipers (M-tuned adapter), it's probably time to step it up to our 11.75" kit and NEVER worry about your brakes again.

I'm sure you've done your market research, but are you sure? I love mine, I'd much rather get rid of the stock caliper for $380 more ($500-m-tuned kit), than pay $636 for wheels and another $400 for brakes to have the 11.75" kit. Plus the savings in pad taper and pad options.

Then again, I realize I'm starting to be in a minority, not having 6uls.

It was me who posted on m.net. What I said, specifically, is that there is contact under hard cornering - the wheel deflects enough to make light contact with the caliper. Ben, no need to bother with the Dremel, since the wheel will abrade the caliper just enough to prevent further interference and won't be any the worse for wear as a result.
