Soooo, to my understanding, if you want a 1pc upper hose for the coolant reroute, you need to buy the 04 tahoe 4.8L upper rad hose. well about 15 minutes of google engineering, and ive come to the conclusion that no one makes it in silicone... yippe, story of my life.

so i called up mishi since they were last on the list to be checked out, explained to the guy what the deal is with the coolant reroute and he said he has herd of it before and that a few people have called about it, and that he would note it, but they are not pursuing it... he said if there was enough generated interest that it possibly could change. I really dont like the hardline in the middle method, and id rather use silicone hoses/stainless line over a rubber hose. So that leaves me back to my original plan, AN fittings and stainless lines for my coolant lines ($$)


Soooo any interest? I told him id call him back if i could get enough interest.. if not i will just stick to my gay fittings...

 

why can't you just buy a straight piece of silicone house and use some anti-kink coils? a-la m-tuned.

Why do we need a silicone hose?

 

more durability than rubber??? plus i figured since a lot of the cars on here see higher temps under the hood w/ boost, silicone seems like a way better option than rubber..

and i know most of your arent concerned with looks, but i am. and i think this hose would look the best, as well as perform a lot better than an OEM rubber one on built motors. its also pretty damn simple, no fiddling with springs to put in it, no hardline by the IM, etc.

 

I'm all for sprucing up the engine bay, but this hose runs on the cold side. Do people really have durability issues with these rubber hoses? I get silicone vacuum hoses because those are a bitch when they get hard, but I don't see the point other then aesthetics.

If we are doing this for aesthetics I would rather have a black braided teflon hose. Those are purdy.

 

wow bummer no one is interested... and i have no idea who has problems with them, i was trying to see if anyone wanted one like me, so that was one less thing we have to worry about!
