I've got my engine coming out soon and figured its time to do everything right while everything is easily accessible.

I have a mocal sandwich plate and an FC oil cooler that I'm probably going to put behind the front bumper (where that big piece of white styrofoam type stuff used to sit). After searching for an hour, I've learned that
-I want 10AN fittings/lines.
-I want SS lines
-I need a certain angle on the fittings coming off the sandwich plate due to fittingz hit block
That's about all I know. I don't know **** about fittings unfortunately nor what adapters I need etc.

Does anyone have links or certain websites where they got all their fittings/adapters/etc? It seems like some people have shitty luck with certain fittings (leaks, cracks, etc.) and other fittings work well.

Any suggestions or criticism on my plan is welcome too. I know a couple guys put the FC oil coolers there since its so big it doesn't need to see direct airflow.

 

If you check my build thread and look back towards the spring you will see how I mounted m rx7 oil cooler and ran the lines.

 

I believe your best and cheapest option is buying off of summit or jegs. Youll need a braided hose, hose end fittings, and male fittings. Earls brand stuff seems to be pretty popular. For the fittings i believe Earl's auto fit is most commonly used.

I also use Aeroquip fittings and lines on my car, but that is because it is what my local hydraulic shop sells. The other option is Bat Inc. in Florida with Mocal fittings. I have had good luck with them in the past and would still use them if I could not buy things locally.

 

Perfect. Does anyone know which angles I need for the mocal sandwich plate? Or what size fittings for everything? I'm under the impression that I need adapters but I don't know which ones.

 

I don't know about the angles, as I pulled my intake manifold brace to make room for my install, and had no issues whatsoever.

I do, however have two of the correct metric straight thread to -10AN adapter fittings along with the high temp bonded o-ring washers that you have to use with them in place of copper crush washers. PM me if you're interested in them.

 

Any chance you could post part numbers and sources? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's interested.

 

Actually, I had my local hydraulic shop order them and have NO idea what they are, or where to get more ops:

He closed up shop a few months ago to move back to Detroit with his family instead of seeing his daughter one weekend a month, and I don't have his cell number. I'll go by there and ask the guy who bought the place if I can root through his catalogs and figure out what they were.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get my hands on them but I also don't want to swoop on MartinezA92.

If I did get a set in hand, I'd take them over to any one of the 10,000 AG hydraulic suppliers here in town and get then to identify them for me.

Seriously, send them over. I'll mail them to MartinezA92 (unless I see you at a NorCalUFO event?) once I figure out what they are. We have a shop on site that builds produce harvesters from scratch, and I have 4-5 hydraulic shops within 5 minutes of my office. If the guys in the shop don't already have them, one of the other suppliers will. Working for the ag industry has some perks, other than free lettuce

 

After some poking around, I THINK they're Eaton-Weatherhead MC5315x10x20's. BUT, I was thinking that they were M18 or M16, not M20. I'll have to find them and measure them tomorrow afternoon. I won't be able to get by the shop before then.

I can get the fitting that screws into the RX7 oil cooler and converts it to a -10AN male fitting. I think it is less then $10 for 2 of them at my local hydraulic shop. If anyone needs them I can go pick up a few extra and mail them out for cost + shipping.
