Default Need help identifying a part

Found this after pulling the transmission in my 90 and was wondering if anyone knows what it is. I looked through the parts diagrams and didn't see anything.

looks like something that fits into the bottom of your shift ****

It goes into the end of the speedometer gear that the cable screws into
