got my timing belt done lined everything up and put the crank pully on and the TDC mark on the pully doesnt match TDC for the timing cog and cams.

Crank pulley seperated, outer ring with timing marks will never line up. Happened to me once and drove me nuts because I was trying to set base timing after a megasquirt install...

 

Find TDC with the dipstick in No1 so you'll know how much the outer ring have slipped.
From that knowledge you can decide if you want to run with the pulley or replace it.

The pulley marks means nothing to any sensor besides your eyes, and two dabs of white paint works well enough (and helps you to monitor the slippage).

 

Harmonic damper has failed, replace it.

 

I agree, once the rubber is cracked/separated . . . I've seen a few of these come apart at the track. It can be ugly.

 

Yeap. Plus the whole point of it being there is to dampen harmonics to keep the engine alive. It's damaged, it's no longer working the way it should, and thus your engine life will suffer.

Yeah, you really can't run the car without one of those. Never been a better time to buy a good one.

 

I built an appliance to check them when I do a timing belt….surprising how many fail.
I also put a paint mark across the back for future reference.

 

That's a good idea. I need to start doing that.
