Wondering if anyone would trust, or has any feedback on Godsnow cam gears. They seem a little sketchy to me, but when I bought my miata it had a Godsnow cam gear on the intake cam. He also included the old cam gear that was on it which looks completely fine. Which would you guys choose and why? Here's the link to what looks to be the same cam gear.. Should I throw away the ebay gear or keep it?

 

Why do you feel the need for an adjustable cam gear? without a lot of dyno time, you are more likely to make your car run poopy. you need to keep reading around here, before buying useless parts.

 

I said when I bought the car, he already had it on the intake cam. Just wondering if i should keep it on before putting the engine back together.

 

Right, sorry. So if you don't plan on tuning it on a dyno, I don't recommend using it.

 

there are crap loads of those cheap Chinese cam gears available. stupid cheap. completely hit and miss weather you get ones that are good. some work just fine. I bought one cause I needed a gear with timing nubs on it the it for a 99 style cam sensor. It required me to use button heads on the steel belt shield behind the gears otherwise it would rub the bolt heads and the press fit in place timing nubs worked loos and took out the cam sensor.

OP, to answer your question: no. if you have the stock part, chuck this in the trash or sell on clubricer

 

I prefer my intake cam gears to be computer-controlled
