Exclamation Help Me Im a Noob

I just bought a 1992 Miata with a 1997 swap. I am looking to boost the car and put about 200hp while still being reliable. if 200hp is too much then please let me know how much I can boost while still being safe. I would need a list of things and some of the best but not super pricey turbo parts. the motor was rebuilt 2000 miles ago, and its mint. the things I know so far is I need a torsen diff(or another not so expensive one if you guys know of any), mega squirt (if needed) injectors from rx8, vortec fuel regulator, aluminum radiator (that's just for me), fuel pump(I don't know any good ones), wideband, boost gauge, and finally the turbo kit. please name me the best but affordable parts for these things I've just said.

Do yourself a favor.

First read this: https://www.miataturbo.net/meet-gree...-sticky-35885/

Then this: https://www.miataturbo.net/meet-gree...st-post-21406/

Then read a bunch of build threads before you ask what you think you want to know.

OP, the answers to your questions are available to you in the various threads and posts on this forum. You are free to search the forum using the search function at the top for the answers to all of your questions. Trust me when I say that every single one of your questions can be answered by doing that. Nobody will provide you with the answers to your questions if you ask them outright, as you have here.

This might seem cruel or petty, but you're far from the first person to ask the basic questions you've asked, and the seasoned members of this forum tired long, long ago of answering them for everyone who came along. We don't "spoon-feed" new members as a form of Darwinism. If you are willing to put in the hours and educate yourself, you're someone we want participating in the general discussion here. If you just want your easy answers, we don't have any use for you, and you'll be shown the door soon enough.

While this attitude seems petty and childish to those who don't understand it, the result is a tight-knit community of highly knowledgeable people, a forum loaded with excellent tech info, and a constant stream of new ideas. No other forum is as densely technical and relevant as this one is. We have members who don't own Miatas, and some who have never owned Miatas, but they continue to read and participate here because of the quality of content and discussion. The means justify the ends, if you will.

For many of us (myself included, although a very long time ago), we had to do exactly what you are being asked to do (search) in order to gather the basic knowledge required, so we're not exactly sympathetic to your plea for help. The tools are there, and they are free, but none of us will use them for you.

If you type "site:miataturbo.net" into Google, followed by whatever keywords you want, it will quickly pull up relevant threads to those keywords. This usually works better than the forum search engine does. That's likely to be the best advice you'll get in this thread. Head over to the Meet and Greet section, introduce yourself, and get to searching.

Late to the party, but here is my contribution.

Edit... had to retract that one.

The quick and dirty answer is to go see the "Broke and Boosted" video series on TheCarPassionChannel.com. Greg took an NA as far as he could go on the stock ECU then added Megasquirt. He even included the basics of tuning. IT'S NOT COMPREHENSIVE, but it'll be enough to give you a bit of a foundation. I wouldn't do a DIY setup without this series. It's not that I'm not mechanically inclined, I am, but a good kit is already well thought out and would be less frustrating for me.
200hp is very realistic. A FlyinMiata FMII kit will make 200hp out of the box on what I assume is a very conservative base tune. Greg got almost 300 at the wheels out of his personal NA before a tuning mishap broke the motor. He's doing a 1.8VVT build at the moment.
I agree that you should read as many posts as you can, even Greg recommends that, but some of the thread titles are no help. I'm new here myself so I would definitely check out the threads recommended in an earlier post as well as any FAQ's or stickies that have been set up. Personally, I would cheat. I'd find someone who successfully built what I wanted and copy him. They've already worked through the bugs!
Good luck!
