heat! I pulled the flyin miata turbo heat shield
and used a turbo blanket. a friend gave me one he was not going to use. I know some hate on them due to moisture but for a track car it seemed to really reduce my temps and hot foot issues. it required minor mods to fit my set up but I think it is worth trying for those who struggle with this problem. fixing the exhaust manifold leak may have also been a BIG factor.
Yep. Personal experience plus talking with a major rebuilder who said that blankets cause CHRA bearings to cook and coke up. He says the differences are obvious inside once disassembled.
