Default AEM AFPR return style routing

Hello.

I am in a process of finishing my ITB VVT build NA and I am getting stucked now, in thinking but luckily I have some time to realize how to proceed as I will not be close to the car for next 2 weeks.
So what is my problem, or question ? Well first of all, I want to using return style fueling, so 2 lines under the car, and then do the magin under the bonnet to the fuel rail to the regulator... and here comes the question:

- How should I properly route the hoses from the AEM 25-302BK regulator ? I believe this same regulator was used by FM in their kit and I saw some diagram how to route it when you have it under car near fuel filter location.

This is not my case, as I have 2 lines under the car all the way up front (standard NA return thing).
So my concern is that, there is 3 holes on the AEM regulator, 2 of which are supposed to be inputs and one is output. (strange thing is that one the FM diagram they use one input for feed, other input for line to rail and output for return. In my thinking "output" is where I see adjusted fuel pressure, and that should go to rail, but here I am probably confused) I am using radium fuel rail and my idea is as follow:

Feed line from the fuel filter - to the rail - from the rail - to the regulator input - from the regulator output- to return line. Then plug the one input on the regulator. Here I would believe that the pressure in fuel rail would be what I will set on the regulator, and the extra "pressure" (fuel) is going back to the tank via return line.

Clearly, I am missing something here. So how to do this correctly ? I do not want to use a "loop" like FM uses where the fuel will be heating up under the bonnet, when I do not need to as I have proper return style option. So how should I properly route the hoses ? Please advise. I am sorry for such n00b question but who does not ask that does not know attached is also drawing I made so you can draw routing into this. Thank you all

BTW here is instruction manual from the regulator

Your diagram is correct. You can block the extra port(s) or put a pressure gauge there.
