I want to make an airdam for NA Miata. I can order a sheet of polycarbonate, but
What thickness are people using, with reasonable framing and support?

For future reference try searching around a bit. This answer is all over on the forum. There are many others that will flame you for not searching around.

Don't use polycarbonate. HDPE has the best properties for and air dam. Flexible, remains flexible when cold, abrasion resistant, shatter resistant, easy to cut and drill, resists crack propagation if damaged.
We use .100 thick HDPE sheet from AllStar. Available on Amazon here in the US. .125 works but a bit overkill. Thinner .080 or .060 tends to buckle under aero loads. Even a big curved sheet of .080 will deform enough at speed to pull fasteners out.

Emilio, I found that hdpe by all star. How flexible is it? Could I cut it in half lengthwise and roll it up in a poster tube? I’m thinking I won’t need 8ftx4ft of it for one air dam. I could just half it, and sell the other half to a forum member, effectively cutting cost. A poster tube is CHEAP to ship.
They ship the 4x8' sheets rolled up into a tube. Not expensive.

correct. It’s not crazy expensive. 50 bucks is nothing to me. However some of us are on a budget for class rules. And if I can help someone else out in the same boat then I could just divide it up. Thanks for letting me know that though!
