Didn't mean you couldn't do it, just that if there's a lot of work involved, drop the offering price.

Could be due to the pulley design. BRP used really narrow, sharp ridges on their pulleys and weren't conducive to good surface area for grip.

It's not the charger pully that slips it's the alternator, and that's purely because of the shitty design of the tensioner, there is about 1/2 cm of beltwrap on the alternator pully!

Yeah the original JR design had belt slip issues at the SC pulley, and the BRP had issues at the alt. Neither were perfect but the new designs seem a lot better.

I still can't figure out what happened to BRP... It seemed like BRP was moving foward because Moss/Jackson Racing bought into their M62 design, then all of a sudden BRP was out of business and JR is selling the M62 kit. Now FM dropped the Uber and is selling a similar M62 kit. What??

BRP ran out of money and changed their name to SOT. Then SOT got bought by the company which was making the supercharger kit parts for BRP/SOT. Then they decided to not sell retail anymore and FM took over.
Now FM sell the BRP/SOT kits.

Moss' kit has nothing to do with that. They sell their own kit, which they probably created after playing with some BRP kits.

So lets see. Everything for the kit was found except for the belt. Plus some meth kit pieces that were with it.

Now what are we looking at?
I'm still unsure if this will just sit on the shelf awaiting some future project.. or be resold here/m.net etc... :p

Btw, if you want to make the good idler bracket I can give you a printout of its shape. Then you buy 8x12x1/4 sheet of aluminum from McMaster and for less than 20 bucks you'll have a bulletproof idler. You don't need his belt cause you have to buy a different size one.

If I pick it up, I'll definitely take you up on that.

True given the use of a 4-ribbed belt on a waterpump, supercharger, and alternator is a little overkill, sometimes the squeel isn't just a result of the small belt and/or pulley alignment, but of a more serious concern. The M45's a great supercharger, except that some generations have way too little gapping between the rotors and the endplates. When the bearings do start to wear with time, the backs of the rotors start to rub on the endplates... (My second M45 was rubbing so bad, that the coupler disintegrated into a black ball) Just so that the belt will start squeeling. Idk how many miles you got on the blower, but i've done two supercharged m45 miata's. The first one always squeeled and the second one squeeled as well and made a horrible noise for lack of fluid, (Rotor bearing seal had gone out allowing pulley nose fluid to leak into the rotor assembly. After I had my second M45 professionally rebuilt, the pulley nose, the rotor assembly remachined, the needle bearings every thing. It came back a new supercharger. No noise, and absolutely no belt squeel not even on the first turn of the engine...

Now if I know anybody who is interested in the M45 superchargers for the Miata's, I go ahead and tell them to take into account the 500-600 dollars necessary to rebuilt the unit because there are plenty of them out there that are sold as perfect working units, but really they aren't...

I know i'm making a big deal out of it, but I was amazed to see the difference a fresh supercharger makes verses the pieces of shit that I ran before... I could rev it to 7000 rpm's in neutral and it wouldn't squeel not one bit...

I know what your saying Cody, a guy on our Nutz forum is an engineer and offers a service to rebuild superchargers.

He says that the bearings used in the M45 are cheap garbage, so when he rebuilds them he uses top quality bearings in replacement.

He's just rebuilt my MP62, (his first MP62), apparently that comes with really good bearings, (£45+ for the nose bearing alone!), There are less bearings in the MP62, but higher quality.

It seems to be that if you buy a 2nd hand M series charger you should get it rebuilt, but it's less critical on the MP series

Exactly, there have been plenty of m45's returned to magnuson under warranty due to this issue...

So... have it all in my possesion now. Figure at worst it sits on the shelf for another project. Came with what looks like a complete Jackson Racing Water Injection (liquid intercooling) kit. Also a Bipes... and some unknown map/boost sensor (part of the bipes?) + an RC injector in the m45 adapter/bypass unit... one time e-cool unit?

I'll accept offers on it all though :p

looks like it has some custom bracketry which should partially solve the squeal mentioned above.

Also that JR WI pump is a rebranded Aquamist race pump, infact it's probably a 1s ki they're very very good.

You should buy a 1.8 and fit it ;)
