Fog ligt grill for Rotrex oil cooler
 

I'm working on installing the Rotrex kit from TDR and I'm going to remove my fog lights to provide air flow for the cooler, But I didn't like the look of the open hole. I did a little research and found that a speaker cover for a 3 in speaker works perfect.

Clever, though it seems pretty restrictive. Is the concern that it’s a “just a hole” (aesthetically), lack or protection, or just that you can see the whole open cavity? 2 is going to be pretty low risk. 3 could be remedied if you’d just use a flange or velocity stack to hook to it. A simple tube to the cooler, or a rectangular NACA duct mounted backwards might be an idea to face the cooler. On the driver side, you could mount a flex tube up to the hole behind the headlight. Not super helpful for cold air, but would even out the look.

It's just aesthetic, I'm already running the TDR oil cooler on the passenger side and I've seen no difference in cooling with or without the grill. I thought about the velocity stack Idea and will probably do that after I get the Rotrex installed.

I'd be very interested in pics of where your Rotrex oil reservoir is. I'm not grasping the relationship between the reservoir and the fog light location.

The TDR kit is designed to mount the reservoir up between the shock tower and brake & clutch master cylinders.

This seems like a bad idea; AFAIK the reservoir is finned and made out of aluminum to aid oil cooling, and that location is pretty warm due to the proximity of the exhaust.

The fog light is removed to allow air flow to the oil cooler for the Rotrex traction oil. So, while the finned reservoir may be designed to have cooling properties, the oil cooler itself, in the fender well, behind the foglight opening, is doing the heavy lifting of cooling the Rotrex Supercharger oil.

Of course... My query was about the length of your Rotrex cooling system lines. If your cooler is in the bumper cover on the driver's side, where's the reservoir? Mine is next to the radiator on the passenger side, and my Rotrex oil cooler is above the intercooler in front of the radiator.

My reservoir sits at the brake booster. TDR has you route the lines from the oil cooler behind the foglight, near the swaybar bracket and up to the supercharger and the reservoir, to complete the circuit. I have the TDR header blanket installed so exhaust temps aren’t really an issue for me.

Just to be clear, the Rotrex, the bracket, the cooler, the reservoir, and all the lines are on the driver's side. Do you have p/s or a/c?

Yes driver’s side. Yes I have P/S and A/C.
