Hello all

I'm picking up a JRSC tomorrow that seems to include everything minus the belt. I have a 90 with AC and no PS however I can't seem to find a belt to fit my application. Also, the seller is not including any tensioner bracket of any sort but after looking at the options out there i don't see any tensioner brackets for 1.6's that have AC and no PS. My assumption is that the AC tensioner takes care of it in my case.

Just looking to clarify these two things really as i can't seem to find any definite answer online. Thanks!

If that picture is the whole kit that you’re getting, then it’s missing a ton of shit. Mounting bracket, underside bracket, throttle cable bracket, throttle body spacer, a bunch of hardware...

re: the tensioner, just get the Trackdog Racing setup.

Yes after some discussion on another forum i've decided to pass on the kit as it's missing a few essentials.. If 4-5 grand was in my budget I would likely be going turbo. Thanks for your input!

Speaking as someone who had an M45 then switched to turbo-

Don't waste your time supercharging. Your first step should be a wideband O2 sensor and a Megasquirt. You should be able to get into that for $800ish. Learn to tune; you can pick up 10-15 whp just by removing the airflow meter and tuning properly. Do injectors next. Keep your eyes open for a cheap open 1.8 differential, and upgrade the clutch when you have the cash. Once you've done that stuff, you can go turbo and build pretty big power for not much $.

The good news is i'm already running on MS2 and i have a AEM eugo wideband. I'm working on dialing in the tune currently, mostly the idle. Supercharging would be a nice option due to the simplicity and since i'm not looking for the most power possible(150 wheel would be nice). however if i can't find a decent deal on a complete SC setup I will be saving to go turbo; I'll piece together a kit over time and essentially do as you said.

Hello all, complete newb here and have never installed a jrsc but wouldn't the idler pulley tensioner for the manual steering rack work? I'm guessing you have a depowered steering rack and you're missing the idler pulley that came on the miatas with manual steering racks. That would give you the ability to adjust the tension on the belt. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That's what I was thinking. It is a manual rack not a depowered rack so the pulley is there but i would have to put a smooth pulley on there. my car was previously supercharged but the AC was not hooked up. The PO before me fixed the ac and swapped out the crank pulley for a stock one and swapped the smooth pulley for a ribbed one for the AC. The PO is my good friend.
