JRSC parts
 

I'm wondering what parts are usable from the basic JRSC kit if upgrading to a different blower. I haven't looked around much, but I'm just trying to figure things out, because I know I'm gonna get tired of the M45 in a hurry when I start driving the car. I know the brackets probably won't work (but I could modify them or add to them to hold another blower) and the lower pulley may have to go. I'm either going to look for an affordable (I'm not naive though) twinscrew, be it a whipple, Autorotor or Lysholm on CL or talk to the guys at PSE. Or maybe try to save money and go with an MP62.

The kit on the car I'm getting is non-intercooled and since its pegging the needle at 4.5 psi, I'm sure its the basic JR setup. I won't have any qualms about ditching that little blower anyway. I could probably use it on my lawnmower or something.:giggle:

You can get 7-8 psi by swapping a pully and 1.8l injectors.

A week late, but figure a response is better than none:

If you're able to find an M62 and work it to use a 4-rib belt, you could probably keep the crankshaft pulley and the idler pulley setup. If going to the preferred 6-rib belt setup, then the only thing that would be salvageable (that you'd actually want) would be the dummy throttle body. You could probably rig up the intake and air filter, but those sorta suck. Even if you could fit a bigger SC on the JRSC bracketry, I'd avoid it because they're so much heavier. Brackets for the M62 aren't cast like they were for the M45, much more solid.

You'd probably lose more money by selling a JRSC kit that's been stripped of parts than trying to save some cash reusing the parts on your next SC build. Save the headache of saving a few bucks and sell off the whole kit.
