KenneBell setup is working!

Clutch and MS2 DIYPNP are in!. Finally...
Thanks to BS Autotune for helping on the first start and tune. Great help!!!
Even though it is not yet perfectly tuned, the power output is great! what a monster my miata has become!

12PSI,according to Kenne bell it should give 230RWHP. still have to test on the dyno...

Upcoming months i am going to be doing a lot of fine tuning, and more video's will come!

Why are you still using an air meter? that has got to be one of the most unique setups at the moment.

Reverant 12-11-2010 11:52 AM

Nice to see the Enhanced DIYPNP installed, congrats!

Lazy_g 12-11-2010 11:55 AM

Thanx ;)

you mean the MAF? why would i remove it?

setup is not done yet though, still need to place the IAT sensor on a different location. (closer to the inlet), and i still want to put a second TB

You don't need it with the MSPNP, why have a sensor in your intake path that does nothing?

really? so i can just remove it?

I was told i needed a IAT sensor, and the best place would be close to the intake.

With the DIYPNP, you want the IAT sensor after the intercooler. Tap the short adapter pipe between the IC and TB.

The typical DIYPNP setup will use speed-density to control the fueling. Speed in this case is RPM and density is the air density in the intake manifold. The ECU computes density from absolute pressure (MAP) and the temperature of that air. Using the intake temperature at the stock MAF location only gives a very rough idea of the actual manifold temps.

Greg G 12-12-2010 01:32 AM

Yup, the IAT sensor should be after the intercooler, so it reads the temperature of the air actually entering the combustion chamber. Speaking of intercooler-- what is that A/W IC? Is that stock with the Kenne Bell?

Definitely a neat little setup.
From what I saw these things put down some really good lowend torque.

Definitely remove that maf.
Also I'd get rid of that POS a/w intercooler and run a/a.

Basically that whole setup can be de-cluttered by a whole lot and your engine bay would look better and more clean.

thanx! somewhere next summer i am going to clean the engine bay, so most likely i am going to change the a/w for a a/a....

thanx for the tips everyone! ;)

ok so today i removed the MAF and relocated the airfilter, cause it was taking to much durt on the old possision.
So the tube between the supercharger and the air filter is now much shorter. Also the IAT senser is a little clooser to the SC now.

When i start the car, it directly starts making between 3000and 4000 revs...
Anybody a idea what it could be?

Reverant 01-09-2011 11:34 AM

Does it stop doing it if you unplug the IAC valve?

Lazy_g 01-09-2011 12:10 PM

i don't know, would have to test. If it does, what then?

But i think i might have found the problem. If it is what i think it is, i feel so stupid! :vash:

The air tube from the intercooler to the SC has been loose, i refitted everything, but i think i forgot to tighten the clamps... so i think it gets false air, and therefore revs up...

In about 1,5 hours i am going to check, if some might have an other idea please let me know ;)

Reverant 01-09-2011 12:46 PM

That could be it, yes.

chicksdigmiatas 01-09-2011 12:47 PM

With the sensor removed, the way your piping is ran, I think it would be cool to mimic a randall intake.

Lazy_g 01-09-2011 01:03 PM

randall intake? you have some pictures?

Lazy_g 01-09-2011 02:31 PM

Well problem found!! it was exactly what i think it was... the 2 clamps connecting the air tubes.... :o

Thanks for the quick help though guys!

miata2fast 01-09-2011 02:55 PM

Tell me about the intercooler. Does it have it's own water reservior?

Lazy_g 01-09-2011 04:58 PM

yep, it is a closed circuit going from reservoir to intercooler to oil / water cooler in the front bumper back to reservoir.
