Default Cold Side Supercharger kit?

I have searched around, and it seems to me that there's no cold side supercharger kit for a 1999+.

The only one I found is well out of a reasonable price also.

Am I missing something or is this true? And if it is true, what kind of money does it take to take a hotside charger and make it cold side?

There is 1 kit available right now, that's from FasForward Superchargers.

BEGi have allegedly developed one too but it'll probably be 20 years before it's actually available

Converting a kit is expensive, the only bit you keep really is the charger it's self, everything else is binned and replaced. BTDT. You won't save money this way unless you happen to already own the hotside kit.

Why exactly would you want a cold side kit to begin with? Unless you're putting a turbo on the hot side and a supercharger on the cold side, don't even bother, just put the S/C on the proper side of the motor.

Well the kit would honestly be so.that later down the road ill have an easier time twin charging it. I refrained from mentioning this so the entire thread doesn't get crapped on.

From what I can tell, buying the kits basics and finding my own SC is going to be in the $2500's, so I'm thinking I might as well buy an SC and get the rest made.

Anyone other suggestions or thoughts?

Ive got a Ubercharger kit currently up for sale. Its a cold side kit with a front mount intercooler. Currently on 11 psi making 262 WHP on E85. Even if you didnt buy my kit, solid kit... Just older kits so hard to find. They had 3 variations to the kit, the last model had the intercooled system. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away. I'd certainly be able to answer them.

But how will you keep it from having crazy high AITs? Do you have a way to cool the intake after the manifold?

In for supercharger chat as well. Kelsey is toying with the idea of S/C her toy.

That said, while BonaZ's post looks like a shitty post initially, I don't think it was that bad. The OP was "i'm looking for a cold side S/C kit, and can't find any. Where should I look, and how much are they" and Bona said "i have one, it's this much, you're having trouble finding it cuz its an older kit, and if you have other questions you can ask away."

In my opinion that's no worse--and actually a bit better--than me saying "hey guys, where should I put my cutout" and vlad selling me his midpipe in the same thread.

Yeah except I didn't bump a 2 year old thread to try to advertise my midpipe, that's the difference.

...These intercooled MP62 setups are kinda fun though, in a "wine and cheeze'er" kind of way. 200tq at 2k makes it feel like a big engine car.

O.o didn't notice the necro-thread. I retract my defense of the . :-P

A buddy of mine picked up a 91 with a **** body (chips and primer everywhere) built around a JR s/c kit for $1000 and he's swapping the drivetrain over to his '90. Got us thinking...

no no no......you don't want a M45. Ever. The M45 cars I drove, I just laughed at how hilariously terrible and pathetic they were. They were, I kid you not - not even a little bit faster than my bone stock 01

MP62 at least feels like a car that has some grunt to it. M45 feels like a stock 01 that screams like an RC car. Super annoying
