look for used SC kits? Besides ebay. There has to be people trying to dump their underpowered M45 kits. Also are there any other places to look for used Greddy Turbo kits? Looking for a cheap 1.6 power upgrade.

EDIT: Sorry...couldn't resist. I actually see a lot of the Jackson Racing kits changing hands locally on CL. Kind of an odd longshot..but you never know.

All it should take to make it work is a different mounting bracket and some modification to the crossover tube to fit the 90-93 throttle body orientation.

Thanks, I go back and forth SC/T, SC/T, T/SC, T/SC....I may try to do a budget DIY Turbo kit over the winter. I will now banish myself to the DIY sticky section and try to figure out all the damn turbo numbers. How they came up with their numbers for different turbochargers is beyond me. But then a lot of things are.

First boosted Miata that I ever drove was a base 91 with 27K that had a JRSC at 6 psi. No engine management, just retarded timing and a RRFPR. I thought it was fast for a Miata.

Learned a bit since then. That said, I did like the way it drove. For a super easy $1K 150WHP Miata, and yes, many would be happy with it, it would be tough to beat. Heck, look how many are happy with 100 WHP.

Thats a fun reliable ride. I lke the little M45. We where pushing 7psi, and had another pulley to push it to 9psi. But we sold the car before we got to install it.

It is much better than stock and runs pretty good.

But I wouldn't buy a new one. I'd spend the same on turbo.

But for $1000 and done. it's ok.
