Posibilty of DIY m62 setup

I was looking though TDR website for gits and shiggles and saw that they still sell the crank pulleys, tensioners, and other bits for the old m62 setup, after some research I found that a few websites still sold the brackets for that setup. I tried to do more research to see if it required a specific version of the m62 but couldn't find any conclusive answers one way or the other. Could I grab a generic junkyard m62 charger, or would I need ones that specific to the TDR kit?

Even though I run a turbo, 'blowers' fascinate me, my not-so-secret perversion perhaps!

I don't know the answer. I'd suggest getting a bracket and taking it to the junkyard and checking the fit, you risk a little, but may get a reward! I think the odds are good, I doubt that TDR had Eaton do a special run with different mounts but maybe ask them?

Two points to consider: the later MP62 is probably a better bet; and, you need to look inside the casing for scoring of the rotor housing which can happen when the bearings wear. Eaton or someone may offer a reconditioning service, but you would be better off to avoid that sort of complication/expense in the first place. I presume you would do a new set of bearings anyway as a precaution.

The best junkyard m62 for the Miata is the Mercedes, and no, TDR stuff won't work there. That charger takes some work to get it to be worth-while. The GM M62s are a terrible form factor for the Miata. The Cobalt M62 (MP?) Can be made to work, but isnt easy (see oreo's build). MP62s cost an arm and a leg new and don't come up in the aftermarket very often. Best bet would be to get lucky and find an old Moss/BRP MP62 kit, or go across the pond for one of the Euro kits.

DIY SC is hard to do well. Honestly, if you want SC, your best option is probably FFS, but then you are kinda stuck with "ecool" which isn't viable for anything above moderate goals.
