Any progress Madjak?

I know some people give the Rotrex crap, but i got my first ride in one the other day from a local guy. Liked the sounds, liked the power band, felt pretty naturally aspirated, the power delivery is smooth and very gradual. It definitely lacked the torque and punch of my EFR, but also seemed like it would be a lot easier and more predictable to drive at the limit. Will keep eyes on this!

The Rotrex seems to compliment a modified motor. Those flow enhancements respond well to boost. I got nearly 300whp out of a C30-74 peaking out at 9psi of boost. Nothing to complain about there.

I love turbos. My other car (non Miata) has a really nice twin setup. The Rotrex acts more like a larger displacement motor with hotter cams. Different torque band and response characteristics. That makes it a bit easier drive at the limit for most drivers. I had great luck with my twin turbo on the track too so I can't say turbos are bad just different.

I'll get around to installing the c30-94 later this year. Maybe a boost by gear will keep me out of trouble.

You should look into the Vortech Maxflow bypass valve. With this type of blower you certainly want a lot of bypass flow capacity. I had a high 400s vortech supercharged mustang spun to max blower revs and initially used a Bosch style valve. There were a ton of surging and driveability problems until I swapped to the Vortech valve. I had to use a GM truck radiator hose to connect the bypass hose to the intake, it is that enormous.

I didn't buy the Rotrex as the guy selling it went AWOL. I'm not sure what the deal was but he just stopped returning messages.

It is something I'm going to do but I already have a couple of massive projects on the go (pneumatic sequential and space frame chassis) that will keep me busy for a while. Once those are complete I'll set up for the Rotrex. It is definitely something I want to try though.

My pneumatic sequential shifter is almost done. I might have made it a little more complex than needed so I've had to overcome a lot of hurdles to get the thing working right. It's up and running on the bench for short tests but I think I'm getting some EMF feedback from the solenoids that is randomly tripping out the arduino. I think I have a fix now and then it can go in the car for actual testing. Then I have to tweak it until it works smoothly which I think is still a big task. Things like reading CANbus data, checking for over revs, rev matching and autoblip, clutch control etc etc... each one needs testing, debugging and finesse... all up it's an epic task.
