11.75" rotors & wheel happiness
Which wheels fit over the 11.75" brake kits?
i've searched and read a bunch, but the info I found is scattered and unclear at best. Which wheels & sizes fit over the TSE 11.75" kit? Spacers required? What thickness? Which wheels & sizes fit over the radial mount (Mini, a.k.a. 'bbundy setup')? Spacers required? What thickness? Sounds like the radial mount kits fit under Kosei K-1, 15x8 6UL (and presumably 15x9, 15x10?). Sounds like the TSE 11.75" kit only fits under 15x10 6UL. Is that correct? I'm considering the move to larger front rotors and want to know if any of my current wheels will fit, and if not, what my options are. I've measured and think some of my wheels will work and know some won't. I currently have a custom radial mount setup, Wilwood DynaPro, custom hats, 11" rotors and run: Enkie RP-F1 15x7: Very close without spacer, I use a 5mm spacer to be safe. No way these will work with 11.75" rotors. Enkie PF-01 15x8: No problems with or without spacer 6UL 15x8: No problems with or without spacer 6UL 15x9: No problems with or without spacer Thanks, Will |
From what I gather talking with Savington:
15x9 +36 6ul fits with included spacer 15x8 +36 6ul with included (might need a 10mm) spacer possibly but not confirmed. Correct me if I wrong. |
I did a little work on this, with both radial 11.75" setup and a TSE 11.75" setup in my garage and a number of wheels:
TSE________________________Radial X______konig wideopen 15x8______? X______first gen 6ul 15x8_________:bigtu: X______Kosei K1 15x7____________:bigtu: X______Enkei RP-01 15x7________ X The Radial setup wasn't around when the wideopens arrived, but they didn't fit the TSE kit, and that was the point at which I returned them for their 11" kit. Cueball1 had tracked both the 6uls and K1s with his radial kit without any spacers. I believe the first gen 6uls looked capable of fitting with a 5mm spacer, and I think the K1s could have fit with some spacers as well, but it had more interference, so probably would need a more aggressive spacer. So far 15x10s are known to fit without problems, 15x9s need 5mm spacers, and I beyond that you'll have to ask Savington for exact spacer figures on other 6uls. There's a Team Dynamics (pro race 1.2?) that fits as well, again, ask Savington for more details on that one. |
All the TD wheels fit, those have boatloads of clearance.
15x9 +36 6UL fits with the supplied 5mm spacer. 15x10 +25 6UL needs no spacer. 15x8 +36 may fit with just a 5mm spacer, definitely fits with a 10mm spacer. 15x8 +40 needs at least 10mm, possibly 15mm spacer. They're really designed for hardcore track junkies, and we expect hardcore track junkies to have 9 or 10" 6ULs. |

TRM C3M 15x9 on 11.75 TSE... tight without the spacer, good with the 5mm spacer.
I am installing mine this weekend. |
Great info! Thanks!
I understand that the 11.75" rotor kits are intended for 'track junkies' with 9 or 10" wide wheels, but what are you guys running for rain wheel & tire sizes? My experience with Hoo-Hoo wets has been that 205/50-15 on a 7" or 8" rim is a great wet setup. |
I would run a 205/50 Hoosier H20 on a 9" 6UL or a 7" TD1.2/1.3.

Rise from the dead. Just put in an order at GoodWin for 15x7 6uls, but they're not in stock.
Anyone know if 15x7's will fit the 11.75's with a spacer or not? TSE is out for a while. |
Why do you want 15x7?
I can say that Tirerack's TRMotorsports C1 15x8 +25mm clear with no spacers required. |
For a naturally aspirated application.

Y u no 205 on 15x8? I'm loving my NT01s on this setup.
Because streetcar? |
Because street car, low grip more fun. Going down from 205 to 185.

185 tire w/11.75 brakes? :eek4dance
I'll solve your fitment issue and trade you my 11" Wilwoods for your 11.75 TSEs. I'll be in Yuma sometime before the end of the year, we can meet in Quartzsite :giggle: |

Aw come on, I'm funnin' with ya. I don't actually have an answer but I'm trying to get you a bump until hopefully someone who has tried it will see and get you an informed response. Chillax, internets isn't serious business.

I currently have 15x8" +36mm 6ULs with the 5mm spacer and single plane balancing. I am considering picking up a second set of wheels and tires and feel like 9" wheels are overkill for my stock-powered car (says the guy who bought a ridiculous brake package for the same car).
I wanted to see if there was any new info on <9" wheels that fit besides the ones listed in this thread which basically amounts to: Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 or 1.3 in 15x7". Do both the +30mm and +35mm offset work? Later generation 949 Racing 6ULs 15x8" +36mm with 5mm spacer. TRM C1 15x8". Soviet - Can you clarify if you meant +25mm or if that was a typo? I only see 15x8 +20mm C1 and 15x7 +30mm C1M on Tire Rack's site.

I have all-season rubber on this wheel and run it on the street or extreme rain events with the 5mm spacer. I would not track it with a 5mm spacer though.

Rover has 5mm spacers in front and will have them for the foreseeable future.

I have a free set of T.D. 1.2 collecting dust and was thinking to buy another set of 15x9 6UL to replace 15x8 6UL for rain set... your comment intrigue me. Waiting for your answer! |

What about the 15x8" Enkei PF01 +35mm? My inner ricer is a little bit sad at just how limited the available wheel options are with this setup. |
