The lip is fuckin' tits. The color and the whole wheel pop with the spokes set back like that and the 9s really fill out the fenders nicely. I grabbed these tires for a song, $144 shipped for 4 of them with 2/32nds left, so they will get me 2-3 track days while I save up for some more NT-01s.

They did have this funky chunky rubber buildup on the two rears, like they had been driven through the marbles, so I had to get rid of it. :giggle:

blueovalmiata 10-25-2008 07:27 AM

hustler 10-25-2008 08:57 AM

fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk I want wider wheels.

scottv 10-25-2008 09:17 AM

Sweet...any pictures straight on from the back? I'm curious how they look. Thanks.

Savington 10-25-2008 02:09 PM

My fenders are rolled, no pulling. 11.7" front, 12.2" rear. I will grab a rear shot today.

thesnowboarder 10-25-2008 02:52 PM

i want 9s now!

Waiting for the ass shot

hustler 10-25-2008 02:54 PM

I have 15x8 for the street, but this makes me want to get the 9's for the track and run hoosiers...but that's a lot of money and won't last as long.

patsmx5 10-25-2008 04:10 PM

Nobody likes your ugly, heavy, weak ass, puny wheels....

Drool.

What's the contact patch measure front and rear? I get 8.5" front and rear with 6.5" wheels w/ Yoko 225-50's.

kotomile 10-25-2008 04:16 PM

They look great! 6ULs, right?

In for pics of the rear view, and of the C5 parked next to it. :)

patsmx5 10-25-2008 04:23 PM

Pretty sure that's not a C5 kotomile. But "spread the wealth" is hilarious.

kotomile 10-25-2008 04:25 PM

Meh, C4, maybe C5, whatevs.

And thank you. :)

patsmx5 10-25-2008 04:28 PM

Looks like a NA miata to me. Not a vette.

And yeah, that's a C5Z parked next to it. My roommate's track toy that he picked up for a fucking song. Stroked LS3, Pfadt suspension, blahblahblahblahb. Retarded fast.

Back end looks great Sav.

IN YOUR FACE, PATSMX5!!!!!!

patsmx5 10-25-2008 04:44 PM

Yeah yeah, whatever.... I lose. I was looking at the reflection in the mirror of the C5... Obviously.

Looks good sav. What's with that little notch in the center of the rear bumper? And is that a 3" pipe out the back?

Savington 10-25-2008 04:57 PM

3" pipe out the back. The notch was for an aborted trailer hitch project. I need to replace the rear bumper skin.

hustler 10-25-2008 05:23 PM

what does your plate frame say?

Savington 10-25-2008 05:52 PM

"Sleep in the car... cuz you can't race the house."

(because wouldn't fit.)

I hear people do that with a base ball bat or etc. How did you do it? And did you have to touch the paint up?

johndoe 10-25-2008 06:29 PM

our cars are practically twins. I'll have to snap some good pics one day. Same ride height, wheels and all. I used an eastwood roller that I rented from a guy on ebay. Went slowly, used a heat gun. Only had a tiny tiny crack in the paint on the edge of one fender which you can't see.

Savington 10-25-2008 07:40 PM

My fenders are an advertisement for a heat gun and an Eastwood roller. My fronts were done with a Maglite and no heat and it shows - the paint is cracked badly. You can actually see the damage in the photos. The rears were heated to 140 degrees and done with a roller and there is no cracking at all.

What spring rates are you running? And a corollary... if I was staying around 12.5"-ish front and 12.75-13" rear, do you think something like 450 lb fronts and 300 lb rears would fix the bit of fender liner rubbing I get at the track with 225/45s on 15x8s? Currently using stock springs on the Koni yellows, but my Koni sleeves are here and it's time to order springs for them. :)

flier129 10-26-2008 07:50 PM

emilio needs to hurry up with that december shipment ! lol

looks amazing !

to bad my 6uls wont be dailies :( could always pick up an extra set of 15x8s tho!

Oscar 10-27-2008 07:10 AM

Looks very nice. Now stop making me jealous :)

Doppelgänger 10-27-2008 10:51 AM

See.... 9" wide with 225's is a good middle finger to the so-cal gay style of 0 offset and 195's. Fucking awesome.

johnwag 10-27-2008 11:18 AM

Hey Sav, looks fat! Do you have 8" 6UL's for the street?

Savington 10-27-2008 01:40 PM

As soon as I decide on tires. R1R, RE-11 (if it comes to the states), or Dunlop Direzza Star-spec.

Left is 225/45 Toyo RA-1 on 15x9, Right is 225/45 Nitto NT-01 on 15x8. I want to try them back-to-back but at least placebo-wise, the 9s feel like they have more grip.

dc2696 10-28-2008 09:08 AM

Star specs are an amazing tire. Esp for a "200" treadwear.

cueball1 10-28-2008 08:11 PM

225's on 9's look stretched! What's Emilio say about lap times 8's vs 9's.
