Custom driveshaft shop recommendation
I'm about ready to pop in the Ecotec and AR5 transmission into my car, and one of the last remaining pieces is a custom driveshaft. I was recommended to a shop that's about 2 hours from me, which isn't exactly local, so I might as well look at online options. Who have you worked with that's good? Who should I avoid? Thanks!

I've bought stock driveshafts from these guys. https://shaftmasters.com/
They do custom work too. They are within spitting distance from my house, which really is a major reason i used them. I can see why you wouldn't want to ship a driveshaft across the country.

Thanks guys! Shaftmasters came back with a pretty good solution, but $750!
After talking with a few folks it looks like I'll need an adapter like this one https://www.driftmotion.com/Solstice...r-p/dm3119.htm
With that adapter, it should be a fairly simple part to produce, so I've got requests out to the other folks you guys suggested.

Drive line services in San Leandro.
There is a place in Salinas, Pacific Truck Parts, which is actually local to me. They do a lot of heavy truck parts as well as some automotive. They have a bit of a "we don't do anything but steel, and it will probably be strong enough but you don't want it too strong" kind of attitude.
Is South Bay Driveline good?

A general question I have is that the AR5 transmission doesn't have a slip joint on it. If I go with a driveshaft that doesn't have a built in slip joint, other than needing the length to be perfect for the install, won't it also put pressure on the diff and transmission since there is nowhere for vehicle flex and temperature expansion to go? Or is that not a problem because of the PPF?
