Default I love my Porterfields

After 10 years of Hawk front pads on Powerslot rotors. I just couldn't stand the squeal and the dust anymore. They stopped great but dirty, dirty, dirty and noisy, noisy noisy. I put in a set of Porterfield R4-S pads several weeks ago with CRC anti squeal on the back of the pads. Not a whisper since and almost no dust. Now that they're well broken in I can't detect any performance degradation under street conditions.

Is that the street pad? My friend's M3 that i've been driving around has porterfields on it and they squeel like hell because they're track pads.

My Hawk HPS are so silent that I wonder if i'm actually stopping sometimes.

Btw, nice first post noob.

I've got a set of R4-S on the front of my car, definitely a kick *** pad. Grip harder the hotter they get, and never squeal but mine are dusty as hell unlike the OP's. Yes, that is the street compound, the R4-E are track pads.

Buy them here.

Street pads. 6 weeks no dust yet. I got mine from LPI Racing $75.95 with the shipping. I was a member since 2000. I just don't post much. My membership got screwed up a couple years ago so I rejoined. After 10 years I don't remember which Hawks I put on but the damn things almost squealed the fillings out of my teeth

Oddly enough, with al lthe HP+ pads I've run, the only times they squealed is after a ton of light driving, one good day in the mountains would usually shout the pads up for a few months. Dust...yeah...f*k it.

I'll be switching to the R4-S here pretty soon though.

I'm running $25 duralast pads on the front right now because my HP+s squealed so bad. Still have the HP+ on the rear, they don't seems to make noise, just dust.

Yeah, the HP+s squeal and dust like mad. Not great pads, plus their upper thermal limit isn't far from the porterfield. I recently installed XP8s on my DD, while they stop like mad, there is too much noise. I think I will switch back to my R4S pads and call it a day.

Where would you put the R4S and HP+? Since I installed the corrado front rotors, with HP+ front and rear I needed full bias on the rear, and even still the fronts locked up too fast. I'm looking for a compound that would maybe be between the HPS and HP+, so I can better tune the rear bias and get rear lockup at the same time as the fronts.
