6 Speed 4th Gear Grind

Did a track-day with newly tuned J32 swap miata.

4th gear has a real notchiness to it when changing from 3rd/4th at high rpm or from 5th to 4th at high rpm. Seems to require some real ramming and gear grind to engage. Any tips/tricks before assuming I've destroyed the synchros with track work? The J32 is pretty low torque compared to the turbo setups, so I assumed the transmission would be okay, but I'm not exactly treating it kindly.

In normal driving, doesn't seem to be excessively notchy/bad.

Does it try to slightly move the car forward in neutral with the clutch out?

Doesn't seem to be. Assuming if this were the case then the clutch wouldn't be disengaging all the way?

No, it would indicate that your fourth gear which is pressed on in two pieces might be separating slightly and therefore causing the assembly the spin and making it more difficult to change gears. Ask me how I know.
