Default 97 open to lsd dif swap

Hey,

I want to install a LSD dif over my open one.

Should I just take an NB one or ebay stuff is ok too ?

out of that lineup I have seen people have success with the OBX, after some shim fix or some **** like that.

Not shims, spring washers. The ebay ones crack. A $40 kit with better washers and bolts is floating around somewhere...There's a link in a OBX diff thread somewhere on here.

Along with the hardware the ring mounting surface isn't always very flat. That's gotta be checked and machined if necessary. Otherwise a good diff. That's my plan once I have $300 to blow.

I found a '03 Tochigi-Fuji used for $200 with a broken carrier. I used my existing carrier and didn't have to fiddle with the pinion/ring gear alignment (more skill than I have). I sold my old open diff to a Chump racer, he wanted the 4.3.

Later I found a used Torsen-II for $400, with a good carrier. It's sitting in garage for when the TFS blows up.

I found being patient and waiting until something used comes up saved me money.

I got a 2006 NB dif for 480$~
Got it installed today - it is LSD indeed
