Clutch Break-in
I've never though much about it until today. Since I have told others that I'm changing the clutch out in the car because it's slipping I have been told to make sure that I break in the new one. No problem, but I've heard about 50 different opinions on how to do it or if it's even necessary. Do you do anything special to break in a new clutch?

I have heard 300-500 miles of normal driving with normal shifting before doing any hard shifts. i.e., you can still give the car full throttle, but don't do any power shifts or anything that would put the clutch under a super stressful load.

Well, I'm going to do all the normal driving around that I can get in before tomorrow night. Once I get to the track tomorrow night it's on. Thanks for the replies, they are in line with most of the other ones that I have gotten from local friends.

Looked at the build thread and the new clutch is the ACT 6 puck. From the ACT FAQ...
Q. Do ACT clutches require a break in period?
A. For organic street discs "00 and SS" we recommend breaking in the clutch for 200-300 miles with mild engagement such as stop and go city driving prior to racing or spirited driving. ACT race discs usually only require a few hard slips to lap in the surfaces prior to normal driving or racing. Do not overheat the clutch during the break in period.
