94 ABS Diagnosis - Tool and Harness
Hey guys,
Does anyone have any experiencing using the Kent Moore ABS tool, which is required to diagnose the ABS systems of the 1994 (and earlier, I believe) cars, since they do not have a TBS wire in the harness? During my V8 conversion my brake system was open for about two years, and I accidentally tore one of the front sensors when swapping subframes. Since I got it back together, and replaced that sensor, the light is in intermittently, and I would like it fixed! I purchased the ABS tool 0000-42-0010 on ebay, but was unable to find the harness adapter 49-H066-003, which the Mellens manual says is required. This part has been discontinued by Mazda and I am unable to track one down. From the looks of it, it just provides unswitched power to the ABS pump and module for when the diagnostic tool is hooked up, but I am not sure. Currently the tool will test the sensors (all checked out good) but is throwing a 'check pump relay' or similar. I have checked the relay and it's good, which leads me to believe the issue is actually the pump/module not getting the power it needs. If anyone has any experience with the tool, knows of a dealership with the tool (or especially the harness), or has any insight on this topic, please post! https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...3c03c01b0a.png I would love a pinout of the harness, as I could use a connector to provide power to the necessary wire if my suspicions are correct. Thanks Charlie |
