what is the difference between these axle seals???

what is the difference between these axle seals???
im rebuilding my 94 rear end, jim ellis mazda parts list 2 axle seals (stub shaft seals) anyone know whats the difference ??

You want the earlier one. As far as I know, the newer one has a metal lip that interferes with the metal lip on the stub shafts. Its meant for one piece axles that have no lip.

well i just ordered the MA02-27-238A's ill see what comes in, im replacing my axles as well so if i have to i will get newer 1 pc axles. Is there a benifit to the 1pc over the stub shafts?

weight, exhaust clearance, and you loose a man made possibility of a failure point? That's all I can think of.
You can trim the metal lip off easily with tin snips. It's just there to keep dirt out.
