ACT performance clutch disc 3000203

I bought a used engine and it came with what appears to be an ACT xtreme clutch kit. It was a JDM engine and the guy said the engine only had 38k miles on it which should mean that the clutch was used very little.

What is the original thickness of clutch material that is usually on the disc?

How worn is the surface of the clutch disc? The grooves are what you want to look at. I am installing a used ACT as we speak and it looks almost new, scored it for $47 shipped on ebay.

I have an ACT Xtreme...would be interested in a backup clutch disc.

In for pics of grooves.

I stumbled across this thread looking for info on that disc...

According to ACT tech support, the thickness of their discs new from wear surface to wear surface is 0.315" and they recommend replacement at 0.250".

I'm sure djp hasn't moved on by now, thanks.

Yep, from this point the clutch disc looks to be the right thickness.

:giggle:

I remember measuring it and it was more than a .25"

Hey djp, was it cool putting the unit in while the cold air box was still in place?

miatauser884 04-27-2010 02:29 PM

Yeah, cleared by a mile. Right before I set it all the way in I bold the DP on there. I did have trouble getting the motor mount bolts into their holes. I would recommend having a helping hand around for final positioning.

Unfortunately the new turbo setup will require some minor mutilation of the cold air box
