Anyone have an FM2 clutch -quick question.
 

Does the FM2 clutch, compared to the stock clutch, take the same, slightly more, or significantly more effort to press?

I know FM1 clutch is about the same as stock.

I have been running SPEC cluthes (stage 2.5 I think) for years - and loved them. If you really abuse them and start making bigger power, you can get them to slip - but for any sort of normal-ish driving, it feels super light and super stock and nice and linear but holds just fine for anything but long hard clutch slip all through first drag launches. recommended for any normal-ish build.

I have the FM Stage II clutch, its between slightly more & significantly more firm then stock. I wouldn't go with anything else though, its fine for a daily driver & about as strong as it gets for a conventional full-faced clutch.

It's definitely not stiff enough to require calf & hamstring training, & doesn't engage stupid hard (non-linearly) or wear unevenly & quick like a lot of 6 & 4-pucks out there.

the SPEC one is weird, pucks on one side, and full face on the other. They seem to wear even, which is surprising, but I don't know why it is. :-)

The effort is sig. more than stock. That is one of the first things people comment on when they first get in the drivers seat of my car. It is liveable though, and I really like this clutch so far.

For anyone on all stock internals and manifold, you can't make enough power to NEED a clutch that is any harder to live with than stock. Everyone runs out and buys a Super clutch, and all it is is a super pain in the ass for no reason.

I drive it daily in Chattanooga traffic. I don't notice it anymore, but I also don't live in a heavy traffic env. It's not that bad at all, just a stiffer pedal.

Abe, some people have larger plans than stock internals and don't want to purchase more than one clutch. Do it once, do it right if you have larger asperations. I know that speaks for me.

Yeah - I'm just saying I see people replaceing their third clutch and still haven't gotten to where they need it. I certainly stomp evo's, sti's, DB9's and vettes without pushing my clutch at all - and I can let my mom drive the car without having to give her special lessons on how to operate the clutch. I don't know how informed this was, because I've never driven an MSM - but I've had people say it feels between the base model clutch and the MSM clutch. We have almost the same set up, you and I, except I've got an MS-II, and a MSM head and cams, so I should certainly be in at least the ballpark you are powerwise, if not a bit better, on 16 psi. At that level, I have no complaints about the clutch.
