Default wheel spacers

What is the general consensus on wheel spacers for aggressive street use? 5mm. 6ULR's on my subaru. The legacy forums say 17x9 should be +43, 6ULR's are +48. I want them but don't like the idea of eating $1000 if I can't get them to fit.

Thoughts?

meh, if the studs will do it I don't see a problem with ~5mm. Anything more makes me nervous.

I bet they fit fine without spacers.

Thanks Andrew. The factory wheel is 17x7 +48 on my OBXT. Currently have 225/55 all seasons on there. There's about 2 fingers worth/1 inch between the tire and the strut body. So it'd be a gamble w/o spacers. I'd want to run the widest possible tire, maybe that's a 255? I don't tend to spend this kinda coin w/o knowing if it'll fit, or even how it'd look. There's only one real pic of the 6ulr that I can find too.
