Default NB bilstein DYI coilover question

I just got a set of used nb bilstein sports complete with springs and tophats. I am putting them on my 96M and i know i need the FM kit or something like it to get these to fit. But i was wondering if i got some ebay coilover sleeves could i put those on with the stock nb springs? Or should i get some tein or h&r or megan racing springs and have my bilsteins revalved for those new spring rates? Im looking to spend the least amount of money for the best ride possible ride. The car will be used primarily for joyriding and occasional track weekends. I live in metro detroit and our roads are ****, keep that in mind...Also if anyone in the metro area knows where to get bilsteins revalved, let me know cause i cant really find any info

Hi Rob, I think there are some recent similar threads on this. Check the search function and see what comes up.

You need to search miata.net. There's a long thread over there about mixing ebay parts into your suspension.

why would you use ebay sleeves with stock springs? That doesnt work and is stupid. You if you have a complete takeout shock assembly from an NB it drops right into the NA, no conversion pieces needed.

Let me ask you a question: What do you hope to gain by attempting to put stock springs on coilover sleeves?

Probably trying for adjustable ride height.

You will not be able to use stock springs with ebay sleeves unless you weld a bigger platform to the threaded collar. They're designed for 2.5" springs. Stock springs are like...4". They'll slide right over the sleeve.

Just bolt the things in your car and run them.
