Bilstein vs. Ohlins for DIY coilover?

I purchased a set of secondhand Ohlins shocks and full assemblies from an MSM.

I was thinking of sending the Ohlins off to be re-valved, and then use Eibach coilover springs, sleeves for adjusting, and Xida upper mounts.

Any reason to use the Bilsteins instead? This is a street setup with a track day here and there.

Of what Ohlins do you speak?

From what I understand, they were only available in Japan. These particular shocks are for the NA.

Upon further inspection, I've discovered 3 grooves to which the circlip can be relocated, effectively changing the 'height' of the spring assembly! I'll need to verify that my coilover sleeves will mount satisfactorily on the circlips, but this definitely is a vote in the Ohlins' favor.

Thread resurrection, but do you have any more info on these? Did you proceed with installing them? Impressions?

I could be very wrong but my impression of Japanese Ohlins is that they are not especially special.....and different to what the rest of the world consider to be an Ohlins shock.
