Oddly, the ring gear looks totally unharmed. How the heck do you kill just the spider gears?!

he goosed it with one tire on gravel the other on pavement, guess it was enough to just kill the spider gears. He complained of sudden RPM surges while cruising and loud clanking on corners, I figured something like this happened.
