Brakes stick when cold
 

So I went out to the car to go to the first day of class for this semester and get no where. With the snow on the ground, I either don't move or I spin, but this isn't the first time. When it's really cold out, something is sticking inside the rear brakes. I believe it's somehow related to the E-brake but not sure. Is the general fix for this just to rebuild the caliper? New slider pins and hardware as well, or do I need to look at the rest of the system while I'm at it? It doesn't happen when it stays above about freezing (although it's worse when wet) and hitting the caliper with a quick blast from the MAP torch makes it go away. Any advice is appreciated.

I had the same problem on my 93 daily driver.Adding a small return spring on the lever were the park brake cable attaches to the caliper allowed mine to release when the calipers were wet and frozen.hope this helps!kirk

I'll give it a shot... I think I'm just going to rebuild it. I found it's the right rear which I replaced not too long ago with an autozone re-manned unit. I'll rebuild it myself and hopefully fix whatever they messed up.

I had this happen when I used the ebrake in cold weather. I don't remember what I did to fix it. I think i just re greased everything when I did the pads.
