Broke diff housing
1 Attachment(s)
The lowest PPF bolt was a little too low, made contact with a rumble strip at a race, and ended up breaking my diff housing. Do these ever break under normal circumstances? I was thinking of a RX7 housing, beefier yes, but if it's not needed, then why, the rx7 housing weighs more, and has fewer cooling fins. I was just wondering if anyone has ever broken a miata housing due to wheel hop, too much power, etc? If not, then I am just going to spring for another miata housing. I also don't think the poly bushings helped my situation any :-/

On the race track every time the rear get hit they break for the most part. They have stresses built into them so they shear to help not damage other parts. Long story short they do break not all the time but if you track your car a lot or it is a dedicated race car I would recommend keeping a spare around that is what all the people I know do. The RX7 diff housing is a little stronger but is built the same way it is made to shear when it gets hit.
