Default Clutch chatter degrees of freedom in drive line

Anyone traced the chatter that occurs with some clutch combinations?

I have one of acts high friction discs and the only way I can stop it from chattering is to load the driveline hard enough to take up all the flex in the mounts. I have new motor mounts but old diff mounts. Thought Id try UHMW diff mounts.

The hard diff mounts helped a lot but I still can get some chatter when feathering lightly.

I think its Acts stickiest material so that may be whats made the car sensitive. Ive never had a clutch that sticks so hard. Its noticable when you shift if rpms arent matched right

a big contributor to clutch chatter is a high kinetic (sliding) friction disk materials. rather than sliding during engagement, they grab and let go grab and let go at a high rate and that manifests itself as chatter.

organic disks for example have pretty low kinetic friction coefficients so they allow a good deal of slip to alleviate the chatter.

what kind of disk are you running? metal or ceramic or something?

Thats exactly what it feels like. Where a regular clutch feels like theres a big difference between static and kinetic friction this does not.
It all gets worse as things get warm. Even without clutching as the flywheel warms up from regular driving the coeffecient seems to change a lot (gets higher). If I err towards "launching" everytime its fine but I hate driving that way. I need more test drive but with the stiffer diff bushings it may be manageable now.
