Bumpstops

I don't hear much about them, and they often appear to be overlooked. With the amount of time I'm spending on my suspension at the moment I don't want to miss anything.

From this: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=401320

It seems I should only be running about 18mm of bumpstop both F and R with my 450/300 springs. I am also running NB mounts on my NA. My ride height will be ~ 12.5/12.75 or 4.75/5 (pinch welds).

I'd like to hear what bumpstops and bumpstop lengths people are using with their spring rates and ride height before I start cutting my stops.

If you have the money FCM bumps are nice. You can go with some stock Honda bumps if your on a budget.

I've got the FCM bumpstops on the car. My concern was if I need to cut down the 36mm stops to 18mm? Shaikes thread doesn't say if his recommendation is for an NA with NB hats, or an NB.

I run ISC tophats in the rear, and just used the factory bumpstops cut down to about half height.

What was their initial length?

There should be a giant thread about this topic on m.net or possibly here from about 2 years ago.
