carbotech dynalite 7112 xp12 pads

Anyone know a place (other than 949) to buy the Carbotech Dynalite 7112 xp12 pads who has them in stock?

I'm almost out of front pads and want to buy some that will ship soon. I searched around on google and couldn't find anything for the wilwoods and a few of the links I tried on Carbotech's page didn't get me anywhere.

edit:
I'm a dumbass and don't know part #'s...they won't taper.

Unfortunately, I don't. Does he have XP10s in stock? You may find that XP10s are enough with the new setup.

Give autoXcooper a call. They say on the Mini forums they have carbotechs for dynalites.

why not buy them from carbotech? www.ctbrakes.com

Braineack 12-07-2009 08:18 AM

saferacer.com might, and they always have a coupon code to use. (search for the specmiata code)

and Savington. Probably a design flaw with the sport brakes.

Braineack 12-07-2009 09:44 AM

One day I'll install my xp10s and feel like a man.

Nope, my XP12/10 combo on the MSM was rock solid and triple drove at a NASA event @MSR-H. That car got at least 12 track hrs that weekend, maybe more.

Hustler, you were even at that event when I went over my setup, I believe at the time you were using Hawks?

Happened to Savington as well. It's a problem with heat and the stock single piston floating caliper design. This thread is about 7112 pads which are for the Trackspeed Engineering Wilwood brake setup found here: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t40100/

They have Carbotech pads for Miatas, but not Wilwood calipers.

Yep, but Savington doesn't have sport brakes... stock 94 calipers. Again, it has to do with the heat and the stock single piston floating caliper design.

The reason it happens is due to heat. That just means that you don't use the brakes as much or that MSR isn't hard on brakes (never been, so I don't know). Hours are irrelevant, heat and brake pressure are the cause.

MSR has lots of exually spaced braking, like Hallett. I grossly prefer the Carbotech pedal feel, but they fail quickly, the Hawk blues are dinosaur wheel eaters, but they last several days.

Bill at Miataroadster might have a set or two in stock? So far, he's been great to deal with and better then any other company I've dealt with in the Miata community when it comes to communication.

According to Carbotech, we are one of the very few dealers in the world that actually stock Carbotechs for the 7112 Dynalite and 6712 Dynapro. Possibly the only one. Super Lap Battle and Redline Time Attack and believe it or not, Miata Challenge cleaned us out a few weeks ago. Carbotech ran out of Wilwood plates and wasn't able to replenish my stock so orion4096's order was delayed. I paid for expedited shipping myself to put them on his doorstep.

If I'm out, Carbotech may not have them sitting on the shelf either and no one else really stocks them. They usually make what I need to order.

We usually keep those Wilwood plates, all the popular MX5, Miata and S2000 numbers too. Call me a few days before Redline and you take your chances :)

We regularly ship Subie, Evo, Nissan, Mini, BMW, Acura and can get you everything else CT has pads for.

There, fixed for ya :)

Thanks Emilio. I found out the hard way that most people did not stock the 7112 pads and Carbotech was taking longer than I expected to make the pads.

I ran my old stock caliper xp10s on the front and xp12s on the rear at Infineon and smoked the rears a few times going into turn 4 before messing with the prop valve.
