Cleaning Flywheel

I'm going to be installing a FW for my Integra this weekend. I got some oil, grease, and finger prints on the FW. Just wondering if brake cleaner is the recommended cleaner?

Not sure if it leaves a residue. So brake cleaner? Mineral spirits?

If I were doing it I would rub it with some real fine steel wool and either lacquer thinner or acetone.

brake cleaner works great. flywheels and brake rotors are pretty much brothers.

Yup brake cleaner. FYI it leaves no residue, unlike carb cleaner.

So I sprayed down the flywheel w/ WD40 after seeing surface rust. Wow that started pretty dang quickly. Anyway, what can I use to remove the WD40? Will brake cleaner remove it too?

Yes.

The smooth areas are like brake rotors. Look at them after a rain. They will rust in a day or 2. the first time you hit the brake, it's taken off.
