clutch hydraulic issues
 

I've been having some problems with my clutch the last week. I noticed my clutch pedal needing to be pushed all the way down to get the transmission in gear but it would sill have some resistance going into gear and the clutch would let out millimeters from the floor. So i changed my slave thinking that was the issue. Re bled... adjusted the pushrod a bit and it felt great for one drive. Then all of a sudden lost all pedal pressure. So i assumed it was the master so i replaced it yesterday and re bled again, no air left at all and it us being a bitch again this morning on the way to work. Grinding going into gear, pushrod is adjusted all the way out to try to get the engagement off he floor. Think is, the majority of the engagement is where its supposed top be its just lightly dragging even with the pedal all the way down. I don't know how top get anymore throw out on it. Never had thus issue before.

With a new master and slave cylinder, unless one has already failed from manufacturing issues, you still have air in the system.

Flex hose in good shape?

Gotta bench bleed the master. You have air in the top of the line, up near the master.

did you replace the stock coiled-up hardline section? that is a notorious cause of air in the system. 949 and others offer braided hose to replace that section which all but eliminates the issue.

did you pull back the rubber boot on the slave? is it all wet in there? if so, bad replacement slave. btw they make a slave rebuid kit.

describe your bleeding process, many people dont do it right.

As long as it's bled properly this is your problem. I've cracked that hose before and blamed it on the salve initially. A braided clucth line is cheap and really cleans up that mess of a stock line.

i got the 949 race (long) version, it replaces the flex line and the curly q.

fill the clutch master all the way up, put a piece of hose on the slave bleeder and run it into a jug of brake fluid. crack the bleeder open and with you hand move the clutch pedal in and out, always monitoring the fluid level in the master cylinder. close the bleeder and see if the pedal feels better.
