Clutch kit replaced, still no pressure in the pedal...

Noob here, stock NB Miata with some serious clutch pedal issues. I just replaced the clutch kit and I know that since that didn't solve my problems, its probably master/slave cylinder or a leak somewhere, but how do I know what to check to narrow it down? I'm absolutely broke right now and can't afford to replace something else and it not fix it, because it's my DD and I'm having to hitch rides or bike to work. Any ideas?

If there is hydraulic fluid in the clutch slave boot, your slave needs to be replaced or rebuilt. If there is no fluid present, bleed the system of any air and try again. Be sure to search for the correct procedure and follow it.

+1

Did you just lose pressure to you clutch pedal one day? Was the clutch ever slipping?

These cars are bad about the slave or clutch master cylinder going bad. They don't do it often, but they are old.

Remember there is a second resevoir for the clutch. It isn't tied in with the brakes.

Also, check to see if oil is leaking from the slave cylinder. It could leak or not leak and be bad.

get a screw driver or something and manually push the clutch arm. Make sure there is good pressure. You may have not got the throw out bearing right. If you have pressure then you are back to the cylinders.

autozone and oriellys ar about $100 for both.

I think someone on this site found some good new ones way cheaper on line.

check miata.net garage It will have pretty much all the info you need there if you are willing to take the time to read it all, which i recommend.
