I had my vmaxx classics at a very reasonable ride height, and they were pretty rough over road imperfections, and felt overdampened/stiff/uncomfortable.

Then when I drove them in anger, they felt under sprung and too soft.

I know very little about suspension but this to me seemed like fail/fail. If I'm gonna have mushy suspension, it better at least be comfy on bad roads. If I'm gonna rattle my kidneys with stiff suspension, it better handle amazing.

I can't function in this modern world.
Don't buy the parts through Ebay. I didn't.

If only there were a thread somewhere with like 700 posts telling you exactly how to put together a DIY Bilstein setup...

Takes at LEAST 15 minutes including cutting your own bump stops.

No it's $300 for $80 bumpstops. Or whatever he charges.

Woah, that's not very fair. Don't forget you also get the benefit of many hours put into verbose and poetic treatises written about your custom* handcrafted parts that have been meticulously cut, woven, and caressed to meld with the very spirit of your unique and individual shock absorbers*

Yesterday I installed a slightly used set of KW V1's and I am very impressed. Me and my mechanic went for a ride on slightly rough roads around his shop and were amazed how good these handled the bumps with two of us in it.
I set the car slightly high and compromised the springs (no stiffness adjustment) because of my driveway and shitty city roads but for now as I said I am very pleased with the ride quality.

Don't forget about the $250 an hour consulting fee. I should charge for this...

I hear someone talking about rough roads.
Lemme just leave this here then:
