Delrin Door Bushings

They look to be an inexpensive upgrade over the stock one's in my NA8 that are probably pretty soft after 13 years. Any thoughts about Garage Star vs Cobalt at Moss that currently having a sale? Both retailed at $45, now the Cobalt's are discounted more than the Garage Star. Everything always looks better in the pictures.

Re: door bushings

I have the garage star bushings and love them. I have no experience with Cobalt, but they can't be much different. It's a simple part that helps a lot with noise, and a small help with chassis stiffening. I don't think you can go wrong with GS, I've loved everything I've bought from them.

I just installed the GarageStar bushings and can't tell any difference from the 27 year old stock pieces (when adjust properly). This is with hard top and hard dog dd roll bar installed. Maybe it'd be different w/o that stuff?

I have both of those, it's definitely not a huge difference. But I'd say they definitely make a difference in ransom clunking from my doors, not to mention they sound nicer when you close them.Id only recommend them because little things add up and turn out to make the car that much better.

They do make it harder to close the doors. Well, not really harder but you need to give the doors a harder shove to ensure that they latch fully.

I haven't noticed that, maybe they aren't aligned properly? Or maybe I just have always closed my doors hard enough that I don't notice a difference.

From what I've seen and read:
At best they somehow help with 'stiffness'
At worst they help with NVH if that's an issue. (mostly the NV part).

If that last bit sounds good to you, then it's an upgrade!

Here's another option: with a bit of time and some 1/2" UHMW or HDPE, you can make your own..... I made these with just a little bit of time, some eBay fasteners (just for the aesthetics), and some careful measuring. A few minor adjustments to the door cups, and they work great!
