Differential Breather?

Looking around for some parts I found this:

umm. i have a 99 miata too and mine has one....or maybe its my 85 supra... now i cant remember. your good as long as you don't over fill the diff.

the are a simple ball and spring that open to allow pressure to escape. your diff has one.
