6 speed shifter
Does anyone have a part number for change control case for '01 6 speed. I got a transmission no shifter or piece shifter bolts to. Found shifter for NC models came with control case but as suspected it is different case. shifter may work don't know. Called local dealership they give me part numbers for 5 speed cases but online I find part numbers for six speed and dealer says numbers aren't good. My 5 speed is NA model so it is different. Haven't found anything about interchanging turret cases just shifters. Any info would be appreciated.

I am pretty sure the 5 and 6 speeds from NA/ NB's are only different because one model has a single locating pin and the other has 2 pins. They are interchangeable, you may just need to remove a pin.
Search my old posts. I asked the same question when I was getting my 6spd

Thanks 240, i read that somewhere on here before, confirmation is good though.
What i really need is the piece that has the locating pins in it. is that piece the same on NB 5 and 6 speeds? dealer thinks so, I don't. I know my NA isn't the same at all. Shifter might be, change control case is not. I have an NC shifter and case, brand new but of course it is different.

Yeah 4 Bolts square pattern three bolt triangle pattern on top for shifter, two pins on either side. that's what i'm after. Bought one for an NC hoping Mazda didn't change that with the new transmission. Wrong. bolt holes are off and new one has alignment dowels. If i have to i'll take it to the machine shop and make one that will work and be done with it.
