Has anyone braced their engine at the top of it near the head or top of the block?

I had an idea to brace it between the exhaust side to say the shock tower bar. Using like heim joints and a steel or iron angle on the head where the two bolt holes face out evenly.

Reason I'm wondering is because I have near solid mounts (MMR) which hell alot of virbations happens in cabin, wondering if more braces will help displace those virbations better. Hate the virbations, but love that it doesn't move so my shifter feels good.

If they don't I may go back to stock mounts with a chain on the side of the block

Lots of people do with a damper, dunno about any solid mounts though.

Several people on the site are running 1 MMR mount and 1 mazda comp mount. It really helps cut down on the vibration and still gives you great shifter feel/lack of wheelhop.

Solidly mounting the engine will increase NVH (that's noise/vibration/harshness). If you want less NVH, you will need softer mounts.

I don't remember what mounts I'm running in the 10AE anymore, I am reasonably confident they're MMR though. I got used to them pretty quickly, and never replaced them with Comp mounts as I was intending to do.

mmrs suck for nvh the only way to cut the **** out is to swap in one softer mount.

+1 for securing the engine more firmly will only exaggerate your problem further.

I take it they put the softer mount on the passenger side?
