Default Towing question

I may want to tow the MSM behind a motorhome. Does anyone know if the Bendix diff can be towed using a dolly without damage? Will the odometer register with the ignition off?

FM says the 6-speed is fine to pull in this fashion, and clarify that the 5-speed does not like it. The rear end is fine.

Gee, I never thought about that. I towed my 5-speed NA nationwide once. I wonder if that's why the pinion seal went.

Of course the one time I tested the rig for top speed at 94 probably didn't help.
