HELP...Wilwood Brake proportioning valve install...
I bought the Wilwood brake proportioning valve from 949 racing. The adapters for the front lines work fine. The adapters included with the valve are incorrect. I think I need 1/8 NPT to 10mm adapters. Am I correct.

If I remember right you don't need adapters on the front, the adapters are for the actual prop valve. The front line just bolts right up to the supplied pass through fitting...

Which version did you order?
Prop valve comes with 1/8 NPT to 3/8-24 IF female adapters and will not connect to Mazda brake system without our adapters. Mazda brake lines are metric 10mm x 1.0 inverted flare. The optional SuperMiata adapter kit includes one 10mm union and two 1/8 NPT to 10mm inverted flare adapters which allows you to install in 90-05 Miata without bending or fabricating custom hardlines. Fittings are all brass to insure a perfect seal without requiring over-torquing. |
I bought the $50 kit. There was the union and two adapters. So I installed the adapters on the union. Guess I need to uninstall those.

The union fitting is metric female threads. You just put it in-line with the front lines to replace the factory proportioning block. The male/female adapters are for the in/out ports on the new prop valve.

Thanks, got it installed. From what I've read all the way in is full pressure to the rear. So is half way closed a good place to start?
|
As good a place as any. You need to get it out to the track and do some threshold braking to set it.
