Removing it means less weight to slow you down, right? You won't really miss it. PS only works under a certain speed( correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's 30mph)

you sir, are full of win. Back on subject, another advantage of removing power steering is that you indeed have a better feel of the road.

I never drove a miata with PS, but I can assume its takes away a lot of the feedback from car to driver.

Unless you have gimpy arms like the guy in that news reporter thread, ditch the ******* PS.

This question comes up A LOT, and I dont know why. The car weighs nothing....why exactly would one even need PS, unless you are weak and malnourished that is.

I have been DD the miata for years now with no PS and I have zero complaints. If someone even bitches about parking lots, low speed driving, etc, they need a kick in the ****.

OP look for someone in your area with no power steering. They might let you test drive. A few people offered to let me when I asked.

If you street the car and track it less than monthly, definitely keep it.

.
I agree, I mean seriously its not that bad. I wish more vehicles came without it. Just one more thing that can go wrong. Hell I was thinking about removing it from my ford ranger, which incidently could be bought with a manual rack in the early 90s.

I guess most people just think I like punishing myself. But Ive never had a vehicle with A/C either.

My last car was about 3000 lbs and I ran manual steering wihtout issues in the city. Its a matter of not being wimpy. Ditch it. The space it freed in the engine bay to work was worth it let alone the weight loss and less parasitic drag. Simplicity is beautiful and exercise however minor is good for you.

Unless you are running 275s or something, get rid of it.
